Working from photograph, Alex has a unique talent in capturing the spirit of an image through the slow, intricate process of burning. Throughout her years working primarily as a commission artist, Alex has completed countless unique orders. Her time and experience have allowed her to understand different woods, finishes, mediums and canvases and give her insight to what suits each project.
That being said, wood is an ever changing medium, and is subject to fading over time. Heat, moisture, nature's elements and many other factors all have an impact on the longevity of the piece. Unfortunately the artwork can not be guaranteed to remain as dark and vibrant when originally completed. For that reason, Alex often incorporates other mediums (acrylics, and stains) to help the image keep its vibrancy.
Pyrography on paper and proper framing preservation is another alternative. Nevertheless, Alex will be sure to guide you through the process and offer her advice on which style and medium works best for your unique work of art.
